摘要: Background. Stenting is a well established palliative treatment for stenotic malignant disease of the esophagus. Because its merely mechanical potential other tumoricidal techniques are often done before stenting. Methods. We did esophageal stenting in 11 patients (9 men and 2 women) using self-expanding coated stent system. Three tumors were localized proximal, four middle, distal third In 9 locally or functional nonresectable, 1 patient refused an operation, had recurrence after esophagojejunostomy. One pretreatment by repetitive dilatation local hyperthermia, photodynamic therapy followed endoluminal iridium 192 high-dose rate brachyradiotherapy, was admitted with esophagotracheal fistula. The interval between last insertion 3 29 days (mean, days). Results. 7 (63.7%) no complications observed. Four (36.3%) died major within week. Postmortem examination confirmed that pressure fully expanding to wall caused rupture. Conclusion. use stents pretreated associated high risk perforation due indwelling tube less resistant wall.
