摘要: The performance of poly-methyl pentene (PMP) oxygenators (Medos Hilite 7000LT) was compared with that silicone membrane (SM) (Medtronic 1-4500-2A) for adult extracorporeal oxygenation (ECMO). Forty consecutive patients were selected retrospectively pre- and post-introduction PMP oxygenators. They according to the dates they received ECMO separated into two equal groups similar backgrounds. flow path resistance, gas heat exchange efficiency, consumption coagulation factors platelets, blood transfusion requirements, incidence clots each oxygenator type assessed. Adult showed lower resistance than SM However, products in these a direct result their smaller surface area heparin coated design, reducing contact activation factors. These are noticeably smaller, require priming volumes, have better capability greater stability preservation platelets also had advantage functioning integrated exchanger. Using single first instance may be adequate majority would significantly reduce red cell during ECMO.
