摘要: Background The city of Medellin in Colombia has almost no documentation the causes acute respiratory infections (ARIs). As part an ongoing collaboration, we conducted epidemiologic surveillance for influenza and other viruses. It described strains that were circulating region along with their distribution over time, performing molecular characterization to some those strains. This will contribute knowledge local national epidemiology. Objectives To analyze viral etiologic agents associated like illness (ILI) participants reporting one General hospital Medelllin, Colombia. Results From January 2007 December 2012, a total 2039 enrolled. Among them, 1120 (54·9%) male 1364 (69%) under age five. Only 124 (6%) older than 15. From all participants, 1040 samples diagnosed by either isolation or RT-PCR. One more viruses found 737 (36%) participants. Of those, 426 (57·8%) got A B. Adenoviral parainfluenza represented 19·1% 14·9% infections, respectively. Influenza was detected throughout whole year except first quarter 2010, right after 2009 pandemic. B 2008, 2012 pattern detected. During 2008 both types circulated about same proportion. Unusually, many months proportion higher (ranging between 30% 42%). The adenovirus mainly last years 2010. cases are frequent four. Conclusions The phylogenetic analysis shows only case A/H1N1, totally coincide vaccine each year.
