摘要: Abstract Application of remote sensing and Geographic Information System (GIS) as a tool has assumed an immense significance in habitat suitability modelling for various wildlife species now days these are widely used conservation biology management. This paper evaluates tigers ( Panthera tigris ) Chandoli National Park, India. research provides information about potential areas that can be declared Tiger Reserve, federal designation protection. Habitat evaluation was completed the Park (17° 04′ 00″ N to 17° 19′ 54″ 73° 40′ 43″ E 53′ 09″ E) using index (HSI). Remotely sensed data satellite IRS-P6, LISS-III 25th February 2005 procured from Remote Sensing Agency, The imagery digitally processed collateral were generated topographic maps GIS framework. Various layers different variables such landuse land cover, forest density, measures proximity disturbances water resources digital terrain model created based on ground truthing. These layers, GPS location animal's presence “binomial multiple logistic regression (BMLR)” techniques integrated environment HSI modelling. Results indicate approximately 160.48 km 2 (55%) is highly suitable herbivores population, 176.52 km (50%) tigers. Therefore, this study concludes within appropriate consideration Reserve. Furthermore, identification mapping corridors other patches lying between neighboring protected area like Koyana sanctuary, suggests region Sahyadri range Western Ghats should included into proposed will benefit tigers, require larger least disturbed habitats establishing maintaining their high-density population. Fortunately, May 2008 Government India NP tiger reserve. Thus declaration Reserve reflects developed by us not only statistically sound but also considered while taking any decision regarding
