摘要: Remote sensing and geographic information systems have enormous applications in ecological studies, particularly the habitat analysis of wild animals. The present study aimed to evaluate habitats African civet Andracha, Ethiopia, order generate geo-referenced data on this species. Habitat evaluation changes during 1986 2012 were analyzed using LANDSAT imageries. In year 1986, 1017.56  km 2 (99.75%) area was covered with forest, but only 949.61  km (93.09%) had forest cover. There has been a reduction 5.97% cover at rate 0.22% per since 1986. classified into three suitability categories based cover, water, settlement/agriculture, road slope. Currently, 611.07  km (59.9%) dense which is less preferred by civet, 336.75  km (33.01%) moderately interfered human activities suitable for civets, 70.56  km (6.91%) degraded around habitats, highly civets. useful predict potential civets Ethiopia elsewhere Africa.
