The relationship of patient reading ability to self-reported health and use of health services

摘要: OBJECTIVES: This study examined the relationship of functional health literacy to self-reported and use services. METHODS: Patients presenting two large, urban public hospitals in Atlanta, Ga, Torrance, Calif, were administered a test about their overall care services during 3 months preceding visit. RESULTS: with inadequate more likely than patients adequate report as poor. Number years school completed was less strongly associated health. Literacy not related regular source or physician visits, but Atlanta hospitalization previous year. CONCLUSIONS: Low is poor closely number completed.
