Air Cooling of Mini-Channel Heat Sink in Electronic Devices

摘要: Heat transfer experiments were conducted to investigate the thermal performance of air cooling through mini-channel heat sink with various configurations. Two types channels have been used, one has a rectangular cross section area 5 × 18 mm2 and other is triangular dimension 9 mm2. Four each configuration etched on copper block 40 mm width,30 height, 200 length. The measurements performed in steady state flow rates 0.002 - 0.005 m3/s, heating powers 80 W channel base temperatures 48°C, 51°C, 55°C 60°C. results showed that stream increased increasing both mass rate temperature. better than trian- gular ones at same conditions. Analytical fin approach 1-D 2-D model used predict outlet temperature from sink. Theoretical compared experimental data. predicted values for using two models agree well deviation less ±10%. But data, about +30% –60% model, –5% –80% model. global Nusselt number present data empirically correlated as accuracy ±20% literature correlations.
