Analysis of YouTube™ videos related to bowel preparation for colonoscopy

摘要: AIM: To examine YouTube™ videos about bowel preparation procedure to better understand the quality of this information on Internet. METHODS: related colonoscopy were identified during winter 2014; only those with ≥ 5000 views selected for analysis (n = 280). Creator video, length, date posted, whether video was based upon personal experience, and theme recorded. Bivariate conducted differences between consumers vs healthcare professionals-created videos. RESULTS: Most experience. Half created by 34% 4.5 min long. Healthcare professional viewed more often (> 19400, 59.4% 40.8%, P 0.037, consumer, respectively) focused purgative type completing preparation. Consumer received comments 10 comments, 62.2% 42.7%, 0.001) emphasized palatability purgative, disgust, hunger procedure. Content is influenced who creates may affect colon cancer screening. CONCLUSION: The impact perspectives health-related found Internet requires further examination.
