摘要: Abstract Unlike tumors found elsewhere in the body, cancers of endocrine organs can cause symptoms hormonal excess addition to mass effect, obstruction, or pain from itself. Therefore physicians who care for patients with must combat both physiologic manifestations and neoplasia. Any be part a multitude familial syndromes, so clinician caring these always keep this possibility mind. This chapter covers selected highlights some unique challenges treating such tumors. Many common themes emerge. Diagnosis typically involves biochemical confirmation endocrinopathy followed by imaging locate tumor(s). Surgery plays role initial treatment often recurrence palliation. Traditional chemotherapy is limited use cancers, but newer, targeted therapies show more promise. thyroid cancer, including medullary cancer (MTC), adrenocortical carcinoma, malignant pheochromocytom (PCC), multiple neoplasia (MEN) carcinoid tumors, pancreatic neuroendocrine (pNETs), parathyroid carcinoma.
