摘要: A comprehensive performance assessment of the empirical–statistical downscaling (ESD) technique named EPISODES is presented. Pertaining evaluation analyses consist multifarious validation experiments as well various comparisons EPISODES’ projections with those three RCMs and two ESD methods based on same GCM scenarios driven by distinct representative concentration pathways (RCPs). combines simulations a follow-up production synthetic local time series. comparably simple, computationally rather inexpensive technique, providing multi-variable multi-site data that are suitable for being merged in an ensemble RCM projections. This allows (e.g. different RCPs) compilation large multi member ensembles derived from via both main strategies (ESD RCMs). Evaluation reveal satisfying degrees compliance between results generated observations. The grid cell bias yearly values, instance, mostly less than $$0.1\,^\circ$$ C temperature 10% precipitation totals. Recorded values totals corresponding to their 1st 99th percentiles represented too. Comparisons climate change signals other approaches, present high levels agreement well.
