Liapunov stability of generalized Langmuir solitons

摘要: The stability investigations for small amplitude Langmuir solitons are generalized to finite solitary waves. Previous considerations envelope based on the cubic nonlinear Schrodinger equation or so‐called Zakharov equations. Thus, they only valid in weakly regime. To discuss longitudinal of waves a more general low‐frequency response has be allowed for. Taking full ion equations, behavior is investigated. method completely and makes use Liapunov theory. A criterion derived which proves known stationary wave solutions. role transverse instabilities also discussed.
