摘要: The role of serotonin (5-hydroxytryptamine, 5-HT) in social behavior regulation is not fully understood. While 5-HT release nuclei the network has generally been associated with inhibition aggressive across multiple classes vertebrates, less known about its effects on sexual, especially non-copulatory courtship display behaviors. Furthermore, most research examined at sites, while studies examining behavioral relevance source cell populations have generated contradictory findings. This study utilized immunohistochemistry to examine colocalization Fos, an immediate early gene product and marker neural activity, raphe superior reticular male brown anoles (Anolis sagrei) exposed either aggression, courtship, or control interactions. Supporting previous research, copulation was a decrease novel link between activity latency also found. Within aggression group, intensity frequency were both decreased activity. An effect context seen, encounters showing certain compared controls. Interestingly, seen separate brain nuclei, suggesting presence systems distinct functional roles.
