摘要: In order to examine the nutritional status of population Linxian (in Henan, China) known be at high risk for esophageal cancer (EC), we analyzed blood samples and conducted 3-day dietary surveys on 3 groups normal adults, age 40-50, from Henan province. Two were Linxian, where EC mortality rate is about 138/100,000 (Group C, consisting volunteers with a family history EC, Group NC, those who did not have EC). The third group, F, was Fanxian, 24/100,000. average plasma retinol level found 0.27 micrograms/ml in all groups; 13%-20% individuals had less than 0.2 micrograms/ml. carotene appeared adequate, ranging 0.5-1.0 About 23% subjects both Groups C NC low (less 2 micrograms/ml) ascorbate levels; 16% levels. Less 12% each erythrocyte glutathione reductase activation coefficients 1.2, indicating widely occurring riboflavin deficiency. Consumption alcoholic beverages contributing factor EC. results present study reveal deficiency vitamins populations, but do indicate that worse F regard vitamin A, ascorbate, riboflavin.
