摘要: Summary We report the first dendrochronological assessment on effects of Epinotia subsequana (Lepidoptera: Tortricidae) needleminer Abies alba forests in Aragon Pyrenees (northeastern Spain), near southwestern distribution limit A. alba. built local residual ring-width chronologies, fifteen stands, using techniques. found a strong decrease radial growth 20th century, during 1996–98 period, only at sites AS (Paco Asieso, 42°39' N, 00°17' W) and DI (Diazas, 42°38' 00°06' W). There were previous surveys E. outbreaks fir defoliation, studied area, 1995–96. They showed that radial-growth suppression was caused by subsequana. compared non-defoliated stands with mean regional chronology. The greatest decline 1996–97. Thus, there 1–2 year lag following defoliation. recovery occurred 1998–99.
