Dynamic stress equilibration in split Hopkinson pressure bar tests on soft materials

摘要: The condition of dynamic stress equilibrium is not satisfied automatically when a split Hopkinson pressure bar (SHPB) employed to determine the properties soft materials. In order develop guidelines for proper design SHPB experiments under valid testing conditions, an integrated experimental/analytical study has been conducted examine process in rubber specimen. Dynamic compressive on RTV 630 and ethylene-propylene-diene monomer with modified material were effects specimen thickness loading rate equilibrating process. An analytical model was analyze processes observed experiments. It found that incident dominates initial non-equilibrium state, mainly affects after stage.
