摘要: In Private Native Forestry in New South Wales, species-specific provisions the code of practice are triggered by presence koalas (Phascolarctos cinereus), based on existing database records Atlas NSW Wildlife. Whereas Species Distribution Modelling allows questions to be posed regarding distribution a species, and how it relates environmental variables threats, key question, many management situations, is whether or not species is, has been, present at particular location, rather than overall predicted species. This particularly case for such high-profile as koala. this project, we developed simple model koala Wales proportion from within suite mammal 10 km × 10 km cells. provides measure likelihood being present. At same time deficiencies data highlighted, recommendations made further survey. map will allow potential more robust transparent decisions protection areas proposed private native forestry.
