摘要: New South Wales, including the small enclave of Australian Capital Territory (ACT), has a diverse bat fauna 39 taxa (34 microchiropterans and 5 megachiropterans). In NSW, 22 (56%) chiropteran are listed as threatened, 20 vulnerable, one endangered extinct under NSW Threatened Species Conservation Act/995.There no threatened bats in ACT Nature Act 1980. We mapped geographic distribution relative density specimen observation data (excluding ultrasonic records because uncertainty identification) for each species using weighted Kernel Density Estimate models based on 96,000 unique more than 3 million individual observed ACT. investigated use existing to identify trends reporting rates taxon over past decade non parametric rank analysis determine annual ratio observations per versus surrogate effort. also regional patterns PATN association classification 6 distinct 'bat regions' composition 18 biogeographic regions within found that survey effort were unevenly distributed spatially, taxonomically temporally. Fifty-six percent all from three coastal bioregions, account 52% records, conversely 50% less 5% records. Further, most (60%) last years. As our large-scale, inventory type surveys, we recommend greater attention should be devoted targeted research long-term monitoring. Without monitoring, identifying populations is almost impossible. The status will remain without action ameliorate threats monitor changes population sizes their distribution.
