摘要: Objectives : To evaluate the sensitivity and specificity of a whole blood antibody test (Helisal Rapid Blood test) for detection Helicobacter pylori using endoscopic diagnostic criteria histology urease tests as gold standard. Methods A prospective trial Helisal (HRB) was carried out in patients undergoing investigations dyspepsia that included biopsy rapid test, microbiological culture, histology. samples were obtained at time endoscopy tested presence to H. HRB test. In separate patient group, results venous capillary compared (n = 25). Results The immediately after examination with result available under 10 min all cases. 203 examined, detected 70 be positive 71 urease/histology. Against combined urease/histology tests, achieved 82% 91% specificity. Five judged false negative on (extensive intestinal metaplasia n 3 ; recent use antimicrobials) yet diagnosed infection, which could shown resolve treatment. 89% upon correctly including these five calculations. 25 tested, concurred giving positivity each case. Conclusions Whether or blood, is quick, convenient, accurate diagnosis active infection previously not treated. subgroup low level due antimicrobials can still diagnose infection. Because require no centrifugation before testing, greatest usefulness this will primary office device.
