摘要: Recovery plans are the main documents supporting management decision-making for threatened species. We evaluated Australian recovery to assess their appropriateness as conservation and planning instruments. Six legislative requirements (species information general requirements, species distribution location, known potential threats, objectives, performance criteria actions, duration of plan, estimated costs plan implementation) were used degree compliance with relevant legislation. assessed all 236 official which had been adopted at January 2006. The results showed that most compliant regarding setting criteria, plan. Most included a single criterion was generally related population status target Improvement is required in relation identification current threats critical habitats, establishment basic elements monitoring evaluation measuring progress. Gaps ecological factors affecting adequate opposed managerial (e.g. clarity establishing implementation schedule, resource allocation). Planning deficiencies could be addressed by improving guidelines more carefully reviewing drafting adoption new plans.
