摘要: In this chapter, we review and critique how conventional models of gender sexual identity development have represented the experiences transgender individuals, argue for an expanded model which can accommodate diversity their lived realities. Transgender is a broad category typically used to denote any individual whose or presentation either violates conceptualizations “male” “female” mixes different aspects male female role identity. Despite increasing social scientific acknowledgment investigation experience, most contemporary perspectives presume that primary dilemma individuals conflict between one’s psychological biological sex, such normative healthy endpoint achievement stable, integrated, unambiguous identification as 100% female, often achieved via some form physical transformation aimed at bringing into alignment. Yet there evidence dichotomous fail true complexity experience. Hence, in chapter broader, more flexible among fact these will linear trajectory leading singular outcome, whereas others, may be recursive process accommodates multiple shifting states over time.
