摘要: Proton spin-lattice and spin-spin relaxation times have been measured in surgically-removed normal CNS tissues a variety of tumors the brain. All measurements were made at 20 MHz 37 degrees C. Between grey white matter from autopsy human or canine specimens significant differences T1 T2 observed, with greater seen T1. Such discrimination was reduced samples obtained live brain-tumor patients due to lengthening near tumorous lesions. Edematous showed values higher than those disease-free matter. Compared tissues, most brain examined this study demonstrated elevated values. Exceptions, however, did exist. No definitive correlation indicated on basis which allowed distinction be between benign malignant states. Furthermore, considerable variation occurred tumor same type, suggesting that within type there are important physiology, biology, and/or pathologic state. caused partial overlap among certain types hence may limit capability magnetic resonance imaging (MR) alone for diagnosis specific disease. Nonetheless, predicts readily detectable by MR via saturation recovery inversion appropriate selections pulse-spacing parameters. In general, can discriminated against better contrast glioma is usually superior meningioma This work not consider tissue-associated proton density should addressed together complete treatment contrast.
