摘要: Sturgeon and paddlefishes (Acipenseriformes) are cultured worldwide for commercial conservation purposes. Over the past decade, we have learned many sturgeon culture programs experience spontaneous autopolyploidy, or generation of triploidy without management intervention. Spontaneous autopolyploidy has been shown to negatively impact physiology, reproductive development fertility sturgeon. Given these concerns, it is necessary understand how arises, affects production, can be managed. The goal this review describe incidence in relative other fishes, explain autopolyploids formed, report what known about intermediate ploidy effect physiology. We then four common methods detecting their progeny end with recommendations reducing based on results recent research. Although may never completely eliminated from culture, following significantly decrease its incidence.
