摘要: This study evaluated a theory-guided cognitive-behavioral counseling (CBC) intervention for smoking cessation during pregnancy and postpartum. It also explored the mediating role of cognitive-affective variables on impact CBC. Underserved inner city pregnant women (N = 277) were randomized to CBC or best practice (BP) condition, each which consisted two prenatal postpartum sessions. Assessments obtained at baseline, late pregnancy, 1- 5-months An intent-to-treat analysis found no differences between groups in 7-day point-prevalence abstinence. However, respondents-only revealed significantly higher rate (37.3 %) versus BP (19.0 condition follow-up. effect was mediated by quitting self-efficacy lower cons quitting. CBC, based Cognitive-Social Health Information Processing model, has potential increase abstinence assessing addressing barriers among who adhere intervention.
