摘要: Objective The purpose of this systematic review was 2-fold: first, to perform a comprehensive relevant studies on the impact self-monitoring blood glucose (SMBG) HbA1c levels for patients with type 2 diabetes mellitus and, second, explore mediators and moderators within self-regulation framework. Data sources Five databases-Medline, PsychInfo, Cochrane Database Systematic Reviews, Central Register Controlled Trials, Cumulative Index Nursing & Allied Health Literature (CINAHL)-were searched. Study selection Cross-sectional, longitudinal, randomized control trials from 1990 2006, which included not insulin, were reviewed. In total, 6,769 screened inclusion, 89 retrieved detailed analysis, 29 met criteria inclusion in review. extraction SMBG HbA1c, potential moderators, study design participants, limitations each retrieved. synthesis Twenty-nine review: 9 cross-sectional studies, longitudinal 11 controlled trials. Evidence inconclusive. suggests that may lead improvements control. Very few examined or levels. Conclusions be effective controlling diabetes. There is need implement all components process assess whether patient use will improve
