摘要: Induction of growth arrest-specific genes (gas1) prevents cell proliferation and/or leads to apoptosis in different types. In neurons, it has been recently reported that mild excitotoxic neuronal death is associated with gas1 induction, and overexpression Gas1 induces terminally differentiated neurons or proliferating neuroblastoma cells. the present study, we have analysed effects transcriptionally mediated targeting C6 rat glioma Expression decreased glial induced apoptosis. While identity caspase(s) responsible for Gas1-induced remained elusive, cells, reproducibly activated caspase-3. Our results support concept targeted expression as a potentially useful gene therapy strategy treatment human gliomas. © 2002 Wiley-Liss, Inc.
