摘要: The evolution of sociality represented a major transition point in biological history. most advanced societies, such as those displayed by social insects, consist reproductive and nonreproductive castes. caste system fundamentally affects the way natural selection operates. In this study, we present theoretical analyses to determine rate substitution at loci expressed exclusively queen or worker We show that is same for queen- worker-selected when singly mated. contrast, multiply mated, queen-selected higher rates adaptive alleles lower deleterious than loci. compare our expectations previously obtained genomic data from honeybee, Apis mellifera, where queens mate fire ant, Solenopsis invicta, find are consistent with predictions. Overall, research tests using empirically better understand societies.
