摘要: Abstract p -Chlorophenylmethylsulfide (PCPMS) was enzymatically sulfoxidized to -chlorophenylmethylsulfoxide (PCPMSO) in aerobic cotton, carrot, and tobacco cell suspension cultures. Neither boiled nor freeze-killed cultures were competent sulfoxidize PCPMS PCPMSO. The sulfone, -chlorophenylmethylsulfone (PCPMSO 2 ), not produced any of the three species. rates sulfoxidation, cotton > carrot tobacco. apparent K m for cells 88 μ M (14 μg/ml), while V max 7 nmol PCPMSO/mg whole protein/hr. These sulfide oxidation are higher than previously reported intact plants.
