摘要: Abstract This study examined the effect of minocycline alone and in combination with immunotherapy against pythiosis. Twenty rabbits, aged three months old subcutaneously inoculated Pythium insidiosum zoospores were divided into four groups (n = 5): treated (10 mg/kg/day twice daily), (34 mg every 14 days), plus immunotherapy, untreated (control group). The treatments started 30 days after inoculation continued for 70 days. subcutaneous nodular injury areas infected measured seven beginning treatment. Only rabbits that developed lesions selected this study. When compared control group over days, pythiosis showed significantly reduced injuries. histopathology presence inflammation, macrophages eosinophils. Grocott’s staining revealed irregular hyphae-like structures ramified occasionally septate. Our results suggest has fungistatic activity is more effective than individual therapies tested.
