摘要: The desire to reduce electrical loading by using energy efficient lighting has resulted in a high level of interest replacing conventional incandescent lamps with compact fluorescent (CFL). This the New Zealand Government, through Electricity Commission Zealand, running campaigns install five CFLs every home by, subsidizing cost suitable CFLs. are however, nonlinear load hence inject harmonics into network. CFL use electronic ballasts and design these have an enormous impact on performance CFL. In past, injected network been ignored as each is very small typically only 20 Watts. However, if widespread adoption occurs, combined effect all sources can be just detrimental one large source, even harder mitigate due their distributed nature. paper presents results study quantify will typical distribution two aspects investigated were harmonic distortion system losses. To enable 28 800 homes represented methodology for modelling number loads Norton equivalents was developed applied. order assess losses, fundamental frequency power-flow also incorporated.
