摘要: The marine mammalian Indo-Pacific humpback dolphin, once widely lived in waters of the Indian to western Pacific oceans, has become an endangered species. individual number this dolphin significantly declined recent decades, which raises concern extinction. Direct concentration on laboratorial conservation genetic and cell resources should be paid Here, we report successful derivation lines form skin dolphin. cultures displayed characteristics fibroblast morphology grew rapidly at early passages, but showed obvious growth arrest higher passages. karyotype cells consisted 42 autosomes sex chromosomes X Y. immortalized obtained by forced expression SV40 large T-antigen were capable proliferation high rate long-term culture. Immortalization culture did not cause cytogenetically observable abnormality karyotype. type primary further characterized as fibroblasts specific vimentin. Gene transfer experiments that exogenetic genes could efficiently delivered into both plasmid transfection lentivirus infection. derived from may serve a useful vitro system for studies effects environmental pollutants pathogens habitats animals. More importantly, because their susceptibility lentivirus, these are potential ideal materials generation induced pluripotent stem cells.
