摘要: Similar to chick, mouse, and Xenopus, a number of intercellular signaling pathways are required for zebrafish segmentation. However, the spatial scales over which these operate in remain largely unknown. During segmentation, waves her1 transcription (a) initiate within tailbud region, (b) propagate anteriorly through presomitic mesoderm (PSM), (c) terminate anlage newly-forming somites. These observations raise question whether region serves as "pacemaker" or "organizing center" initiation propagating expression waves. Microsurgical manipulations reveal that not perturbed by removal tailbud.
