摘要: Abstract Polyethylenimines (PEIs) are considered as the most promising vectors for non-viral gene delivery applications. Here, we report synthesis and in vitro evaluation of two non-toxic biodegradable polymers, TEPA@bPEI (TBP) TEPA@lPEI (TLP), derived from low molecular weight branched linear polyethylenimines by stepwise reactions with methylacrylate (aza-Michael reaction) amidation tetraethylenepentamine (TEPA). These polymers not only showed their ability to bind condense pDNA into nano-sized complexes but also provided protection against nucleases cellular milieu. Both exhibited excellent buffering capacity efficiently delivered nucleic acids (plasmid DNA siRNA) across mammalian cells (CHO A549 cells) outclassed native commercial transfection reagents terms efficiency target silencing, that too without compromising on biocompatibility i.e. toxicity. The results advocate potential PEI derivatives safe potent acid carriers practical
