摘要: A wide variety of commercial methods are available to measure glycohemoglobin (gHb). These various species gHb, e.g., total hemoglobin A1 (Hb A1), or Hb A1c. Some based on charge differences between glycated and nonglycated hemoglobins (e.g., cation-exchange chromatography, electrophoresis, isoelectric focusing), whereas boronate affinity depend upon the binding sugar groups molecule (1). Immunoassay A1c depends presence an epitope that includes glucose N-terminal amino acids β chain hemoglobin. usually as a percentage immunoassay also S1c C1c, others do not (2). The National Glycohemoglobin Standardization Program (NGSP) was established certify so they can be related candidate reference method used in Diabetes Control Complications Trial (DCCT) (3)(4). Recently, effects AC AS one gHb were assessed (5). Samples containing C trait showed modestly higher results than HPLC used. Although variants relatively rare Caucasians northern European descent, African-American population has 8% prevalence 3% (6)(7). In this study, we describe influence four DCCT-traceable methods. A 129 samples collected evacuated tubes EDTA anticoagulant. with identified by comparison retention times Diamat system (Bio-Rad Clinical Laboratories) known for S C. Of collected, 47 homozygous A, 39 …
