摘要: A gait re-education programme, combining physiotherapy with a psychologically conscious therapeutic approach, was applied to nine unilateral transfemoral amputees, whose amputation caused by trauma or tumour. The participants trained once week for mean 10 months. median age 33 years (range 16– 51). They had worn prosthesis more than 18 months and completed conventional rehabilitation. Before treatment, walking ability limited three used aids. All problems low-back pain. The effects of training on pattern speed were evaluated three-dimensional motion analysis system. Oxygen consumption energy cost measured analysing expired gas heart rate electrocardiogram. Semi-structured interviews performed describe coping strategies in the acute phase over time. Results showed normalized comparable healthy non-amputees similar age, due improved technique skills. After treatment none needed aids almost all pain disappeared. In addition, seven learnt jog. Results indicate that this new approach may add skills, mostly participation level, leading relatively normal life. positive results remained at six-month follow-up. The participants’ denial avoidance. Over time they downward comparisons, comparisons repression. Only one participant fully accepted situation adjusted norm. Future research will show whether these can be generalized controlled study.
