摘要: APOPTOSISAlthough cell biologists have known for years that cells within them a program can cause to commit suicide, only recently they been able get at the heart of machinery: group protein-cutting enzymes called caspases ultimate job dismantling cell. Work done in past few is beginning show how are turned on, work, and what their cellular targets are--information may help develop better therapies diseases where this programmed death (also apoptosis) has gone awry. Many cancers, instance, hard kill because fail respond apoptosis signals, while neurodegenerative conditions such as Parkinson's disease, or following oxygen starvation caused by stroke, excess brain neurons.
