摘要: AbstractThis paper uses the case of Hawai‘i’s dairy industry to examine history food production in Hawai‘i, contemporary interest re-localizing system, and conflicting agrarian imaginaries that challenge this endeavor. The evolution Hawai‘i illustrates how over past several decades US has become consolidated name economic efficiency, regardless potential environmental human health impacts. As elsewhere United States, consumers are pushing back against transformation, advocating for greater protection local farms.
