摘要: An approximately 5-month-old laboratory wether, originating from a local vendor with closed flock and maintained on preventative medicine plan, presented continuum of lesions hemorrhagic papules, vesicles, pustules, to multifocal necrotic scabs at the commissure lips, medial canthus left eye, distal prepuce. A presumptive diagnosis Orf virus (ORFV) was made sheep euthanized. full necropsy performed, histopathological evaluation affected tissues revealed multifocal-to-coalescing necrotizing proliferative cheilitis dermatitis eosinophilic intracytoplasmic inclusion bodies. Electron microscopy findings degenerate keratinocytes containing numerous typical 200–300 nm wide cytoplasmic parapoxvirus virions, confirming ORFV. We believe that this animal developed clinical case ORFV either due an adverse reaction vaccine, or had preexisting which manifested after arrival our facility.
