摘要: A self-contained biological indicator for evaluating the efficacy of sterilization processes utilizing hydrogen peroxide and peroxide/peracetic acid plasma vapor as sterilant is disclosed. The includes a translucent, vapor-permeable, container including source dormant microorganisms, sealed ampule containing culture medium that capable promoting growth surviving neutralizing tablet decomposing sterilant, an actuating mechanism permits mixture to be brought into contact from exterior indicator. In one embodiment comprised plurality generally cylindrical, telescoping vials being operable unsealed, test configuration activated incubation. integrity enclosure interrupted by openings which permit flow during cycle. After exposure cycle complete in gas permeable are blocked movement vials. has been exposed placed condition deformable may actuated finger pressure bring microorganism source, medium, contact.
