摘要: Abstract One major concern of conservators and archaeologists is to limit the alteration corrosion metallic archaeological objects. Organic coatings are one most important ways protecting metal against corrosive agents, thanks their diffusion barrier properties. The aim this work was develop effective protective fitting with specific requirements heritage preservation (in particular questions reversibility aesthetic appearance). Ultrathin (5-50 nm) polymer-like films have been deposited by plasma polymerisation in a methane or propane discharge on various samples (stainless steel, Fe, Cu, Ag Roman iron nails). Some results are: 1. tested substrates, except Ag, adhesion very good; 2. concerning such layers, they can be totally removed H 2 plasma; 3. slightly coloured, which seems linked amount unsaturated CC bonds C layer finite electrical conductivity; 4. show interesting properties S, O water vapour molecules; 5. silver some problems observed due ions through organic films.
