摘要: Selection of biocompatible solvents is critical when designing bioprocessing applications for the in situ biphasic extraction metabolic end-products. The prediction biocompatibility supercritical and compressed more complicated than liquid solvents, because their properties can change significantly with pressure temperature. activity anaerobic thermophilic bacterium, Clostridium thermocellum, was studied organism incubated presence nitrogen, ethane, propane at 333 K multiple pressures. organisms contact analyzed using traditional indicators solvent biocompatibility, such as log P, interfacial tension, density. toxicity compared phase molecular effects measured alkanes atmospheric pressure. Inactivation increased time but constant solvents. Knowledge provides a framework interpretation C. thermocellum metabolism
