摘要: The research reported here grows out of the concern and pressures felt by construction sector as it tries to respond a complex intensifying sustainability agenda. These are seen industry itself implying need for new knowledge, work practices ways managing knowledge. In industry, is still novel contestable concept, with no settled or focused understanding what means, drivers that propel it, bounds its operationalization locus practice (Kibert, 1999). A agenda may be drawn very narrowly, say low energy consumption, go beyond, consideration environmental management audit systems, yet wider ecological sustainability, economic viability social acceptability (Spencer-Cooke, 1998). At whatever level this addressed (and even if these levels not agreed), produces knowledge challenges professionals managers well their clients. Thus we see industry’s own discourse often pointing within newly envisioned practices, leading diffusion adoption sustainable ideas concepts throughout supply chain, on basis both market pull push (Egan, 1998; Movement Innovation, 2001). And yet, when there concrete realization aims results in half-hearted attempts apply learning from pilot, high profile prestige projects. This approach, taken naively, seems offer little prospect fostering processes can afford travel More generally through our facing challenge characterised communicate
