摘要: Summary Background Anthropometric parameters have been widely applied in evaluating muscle mass, insulin resistance (IR), and cardiometabolic diseases. Arm circumference (AC) calf (CC) are used as informative markers for sarcopenia. However, few studies concern the correlation between AC, CC IR. The aim of present survey is to investigate relationship homeostatic model assessment (HOMA-IR). Methods This cross-sectional observational study included 11,527 participants aged 40–85 years from National Health Nutrition Examination Survey (NHANES), 1999 2006. We divided into male female groups. Each group was then four subgroups depending on their AC levels. Results After adjustment multiple covariates, we observed a significant negative HOMA-IR. showed positive HOMA-IR after adjustments. Subjects highest quartiles tended lowest both (P trend Conclusions may be novel tool guide public health policy clinical predictor IR middle-aged older people.
