Measuring vulnerability to threats to self-construction: the self and other scale.

摘要: Following a constructivist approach, we propose two dimensions or styles of self-construction that are related to different types vulnerability psychopathology. We have called these an 'insecure self' style associated with fear exclusion, indifference, and rejection by significant others, 'engulfed intrusion, control, possession others. In this paper, report the psychometric properties new 14-item questionnaire, Self Other Scale (SOS), which is designed measure threat vulnerability. produced forms scale, one measuring frequency beliefs, was completed 198 undergraduate psychologists, endorsement 179 psychologists. The SOS has 2-factor structure, as predicted from theoretical model, good internal reliability. discuss future development use scale in research clinical practice.
