摘要: Thrombocytopenia is an associated phenomenon of Pregnancy induced hypertension (PIH). But the accurate count platelets either by manual, (direct or indirect methods) automated cell counters not feasible for all patients at hospitals. Therefore we have adopted method platelet estimation, as alternate procedure to estimate degree thrombocytopenia in with PIH cases. We included 30 normal pregnant women and 90 varying PIH. Blood were estimated accepted manual method. Platelet numbers found be 2.38 lacs/mm 3 ± 0 .33 control group, 2.23 .19 mild PIH, 1.82 lakhs/mm .45 pre eclampsia 1.21 lacs/ mm3 .49 eclampsia. This indicated that there inverse relationship between severity numbers. So this estimation useful a rapid assessment only cheap but can done even rural hospital settings.
