摘要: A plant is stabilized by its root system. In congested urban cities such as Hong Kong, ground trenching frequently seen due to the installation of utility lines along roadside. Soil nailing, which involves soil coring in slopes, a common solution improve slope stability. However, both activities inevitably pose risk integrity any systems present, and thus reduce anchorage. To prevent or minimize damage, careful design excavation/drilling location prime importance. Ground penetrating radar(GPR) provides non-destructive method for locating roots examining contrast between dielectric properties surrounding soil. examine performance GPR promote use test bed was prepared using local materials create controlled environment conduct series systematic tests evaluating 900 MHz GPR. The reflected radargrams were subject influence following factors:size depth roots, horizontal distance water content. Correlations size number waveform parameters also explored. Limiting values size, embedded depth, separation content obtained. significant correlation found diameter time travel parameter T 2 ( p <0.001, r=0.795). Because detection highly site-specific, this study reference Kong environment. findings demonstrate that applicable main roots.
