摘要: Patients with polytrauma often have injuries of the spine as a component in their injury pattern. Hence, spinal is contributing to systemic inflammatory response seen trauma patients. The primary referred first hit, and general treatment subsequent secondary events/hits, such delayed surgical procedures, can cause further resulting acute respiratory distress syndrome (ARDS) or multiple organ dysfunction failure (MOD/MOF). A prolonged procedure also this effect, has led concept initial damage-control surgery awaiting definitive until settled [1, 2].
