摘要: The temperature receptor cells on the cockroach antennae are all excited by rapid cooling. In antennal lobe, however, cold- as well warm-responsive neurons occur. They either step-like cooling or warming. Responses to such transients do not show, whether lobe convey information slowly changing temperatures typical of gradients used for orientation. contrast slow changes permit an analysis effects both instantaneous and its rate change. We compared effect oscillations responses cold-receptors projection neurons. cases discharge rates were modulated oscillations. displayed a double dependence Information about warming, first contained in output single cold-receptor cell diverges form parallel pathways neurons, thereby particular improving detection fluctuations temperature.
