摘要: Because of their promises to combine the high yielding quality Asian rice with local adaptability African rice, New Rice for Africa (NERICA) varieties, which have won its creator Monty Jones 2004 World Food Prize, are raising hopes increased productivity in Africa. We use data from a sample 1,500 farmers consistently estimate NERICA actual and potential adoption rates determinants Cote d’Ivoire. The rate 2000 is estimated be 4%, although at 27%. 23% population “adoption gap” (difference between 27% 4% rate) 2000, because solely limited diffusion suggests large impact that could realized by successful dissemination project.
