摘要: The use of thermoanalytical data in sample preparation is described as a tool to catch the students' attention some details that can simplify both analysis and analytical procedure. In this case, thermal decomposition eggshells was first investigated by thermogravimetry (TGA). Although classical procedures suggest long exposure high temperatures, TGA showed organic matter takes place immediately when heated up 800 °C under air atmosphere. After decomposition, calcium content determined flame atomic emission photometry compared with results obtained using volumetric titration EDTA.
