摘要: This study examines the structural characteristics of northern Gulf California by processing and interpreting ca. 415 km two-dimensional multi-channel seismic reflection lines (data property Petroleos Mexicanos PEMEX) collected in vicinity border between Wagner Consag basins. The two basins appear to be a link Delfin Superior Basin south, Cerro Prieto north Mexicali-Imperial Valley along Pacific–North America plate boundary. data are consistent with existing knowledge four main structures (master faults) region, i.e., Percebo, Santa Maria, Sur, Sur faults. delimited east Fault, west Fault. Percebo Fault borders western margin modern depocenter, is oriented N10°W, dipping (on average) ∼40° northeast. trace Maria located strikes N19°W, west. N14°W, dips ∼42° over distance 21 km. To area, almost parallels ∼86 km, N10°W an average dip 59° east. Moreover, provide new evidence that discontinuous basins, its structure more complex than previously reported. A high separates from southern Basin, comprising several secondary faults NE oblique N–S direction. These could represent zone accommodation, or transfer zone, where extension transferred vice versa. area shows no acoustic basement and/or intrusive body, which gravimetric magnetic for region.
